The mission of Appalachian Christian Academy Hybrid Homeschool Program is to provide an exceptional, Christ-centered education based on God’s Word. Each day will be focusing to prepare the hearts, minds, and hands of God’s children in partnership with the home and church for service throughout the world for the Glory of God.
Appalachian Christian Academy exists to cultivate generations of joyful disciples of Christ rooted in the truth for the Glory of God.
○ Hearts that show God’s love.
○ Minds that persevere.
○ Hands that willingly serve.
A Biblical worldview is the foundation of our education program. The goal of ACA is to provide a quality education with Christian principles in the forefront of each day. In addition to Bible classes, each academic subject reverts back to scripture and Biblical teachings.
With the help of our curriculum, students will be challenged in analysis, evaluation and creation to develop critical thinking skills that encourage students to apply such knowledge and skills in memorable ways. It is our intention to help students establish and retain a true joy for learning.
With half day school days, families have the opportunity to be heavily involved with their children’s education with the help of our teaching staff. Students will receive instruction in Bible, Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies using BJU Press Christian based curriculum. Enrichment activities and frequent field trips provide an abundance of alternative instructional time throughout the school year. We strive to blend the best of a traditional school setting with homeschooling to provide an experience that is centered on Christ, academically challenging, and offers a similar flexibility of schooling in the home.
We encourage all families to be heavily involved with each student’s educational journey. In an effort to do so, families are required a minimum of 10 volunteer hours per semester. This may be in the form of chaperoning field trips, assisting with enrichment activities, substitute teaching, etc. Parents are also responsible for any missed instruction time or assignments if a student is absent. We believe that the more present a parent is in their child’s education, the better quality of an education that child will receive.
